What is a Haemangioma?


A haemangioma is a benign cluster of blood vessels, appearing as a red or purple lump. Common in infants but can occur in adults.

When Should I Seek Treatment?

You should consider treatment if: 
 

  • ​It’s bleeding, growing, or causing cosmetic concerns.

Can It Be Treated Without Surgery?
 

Not in adults. Observation in children may be suitable. Laser is an option in some cases.

The lesion is surgically excised under local anaesthetic, and the site is closed with stitches.
