Cryotherapy

What is Cryotherapy?
A treatment that uses extreme cold (usually liquid nitrogen) to destroy abnormal skin lesions.

When Should I Seek Treatment?

For benign lesions, warts, or actinic keratoses that don’t respond to creams or are bothersome. Most NHS bodies require a prior approvals process for such skin problems, and do not fund benign skin problem treatments for cosmetic reasons.
In such circumstances there is choice to have this treatment as a self funded patient at Deeping Surgical.

Can It Be Treated Without Surgery?
Yes — cryotherapy is a non-surgical option.

What Happens During Surgery?
Cold spray or probe is applied to freeze the lesion, which later blisters and heals.
